The exchange group visited the hospital's Smart Pharmacy Service Area, Imaging Department, Radiotherapy Area, Neurointerventional Department, Rehabilitation Department, Laboratory Department, Cardiovascular Inpatient Department, and Guangdong Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

At the symposium, Chen Dacan, President of Guangdong Provincial Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, on behalf of the hospital, welcomed the arrival of the Ghanaian Ministry of Health's Grand Secretary, and introduced in detail the hospital's medical, teaching, research and foreign trade. He also gave a detailed introduction of the hospital's medical, teaching, research and foreign cooperation.
Zhai Lixiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the hospital, said that the visit to Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine by KWABENA ADJEI- MENSAH, the Grand Secretary of Ghana's Ministry of Health, is also a manifestation of the friendship between China and Africa. In recent years, Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has sent 14 medical personnel to participate in medical aid to Africa. This is the 9th batch of Guangdong Provincial Foreign Aid Medical Team to Ghana to carry out medical assistance, and 9 out of 11 team members are from Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is hoped that the medical team will overcome the difficulties they may encounter in Ghana, carry forward the spirit of Guangdong doctors, and provide quality medical services for local residents.
KWABENA ADJEI-MENSAH, Senior Director of Ghana's Ministry of Health, praised the beautiful environment of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (GDHTC) University City Hospital, and said that working in GDHTC would be a very happy thing. During the visit, he was y impressed by the hospital's strong atmosphere of traditional Chinese medicine, the medical staff's care for patients, and the state-of-the-art medical equipment. At present, 45 hospitals in Ghana have traditional medicine programs, and they are very popular among local residents. He hoped to establish a long-term cooperative relationship with Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the future, to carry out the teaching of traditional Chinese medicine and personnel training. He also expressed his warm welcome to the medical team members who will go to Ghana for medical assistance, and looked forward to their early arrival, as well as bringing Chinese medicine technical training to Ghana's medical personnel.
Shi Yongyong, head of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University City Hospital of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and deputy chief physician, spoke as a representative of the team members, and said he was looking forward to going to Ghana, West Africa, for a year-long medical assistance work in November this year, and that his rich learning experience and nearly 20 years of experience in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were full of confidence in relaying to complete this special task. He personally completed anesthesia for more than 300 cardiac surgeries in 2018, and he will exchange medical techniques with his Ghanaian counterparts and serve the Ghanaian people with his teammates***.
During the symposium, the exchange group also exchanged views with President Chen Dacan on medical education and physician training.
