I have a lot to say about how to travel with cats and dogs! Let me tell you a little bit about it!
1. Prepare in advance:First of all, bring enough food and water for your pet's needs during the trip. It is best to use the pet's usual habit of food, so as not to cause digestive problems, I usually take my little cat love to eat small dried fish and small ha love to eat small bones. You should also prepare enough litter or diapers for your cats to go to the toilet. This is really important, it's not easy to find the toilet outside, I really died once! And ah! Bring your pet's favorite toys and a comfortable mat, they definitely won't be able to stay there properly. The last point must be remembered, bring your pet's medical records and necessary medications in case of emergencies during the trip.
2. Use a proper travel crate:We have to choose a travel crate or cage that suits the size of our pets as they need enough space to turn around and stretch their bodies, but then, not too big so that the pets don't slide or wobble inside the crate. The one I bought before was too big, and as a result, it now sits unused at home. We also need to make sure that the travel crate is strong and secure to prevent the pet from escaping. What if we lose our little one while walking around? Lastly, check the locks and vents to make sure our little pet can't open it or get hurt. Also, we need to familiarize our pets with the crate a few weeks before the trip. You can put some of their favorite toys and comfortable cushions inside the box to make them feel safe and comfortable so that they won't be too noisy during the trip.
3.? Safe Driving:We need to place our pets in the proper position to avoid them moving around or interfering with our driving. When using a pet seatbelt or pet car seat, make sure your pet is secured in the car. This must be remembered, safety is most important! And don't put your pet on the driver's lap, as this can be distracting and dangerous!!!!
4. Give enough breaks and exercise:On long road trips, we can stop and take a break every few hours so pets can stretch, go to the bathroom and drink water. Let your pet take a walk and they will be much better behaved! It's also a good idea to find safe places where your pet can walk around for a while to stretch and relax.
5.? Provide proper food and water:We want to make sure we have a good supply of food while traveling. Bring foods that are familiar to your pet so that they don't cause digestive problems. Also stop periodically to feed your pet, but do so according to your pet's eating habits and needs yo! You also need to provide fresh water to make sure your pet stays hydrated while traveling. Use a pet-friendly water bowl or bottle to prevent spills. Spills are not easy to clean up!
6. Stretch and Relax Regularly:Stop every once in a while to allow your pet to stretch and relax while traveling. Find a safe place where your pet can walk around for a while and stretch their muscles. You can also give your pet some time for activity and play, which can help them burn off energy and reduce anxiety, I usually play pick up toys with them.
7.? Find Pet-Friendly Accommodations:If we plan to stay overnight while traveling, we need to know the hotel's pet policy in advance. It will be less hassle to choose a pet-friendly hotel and know their restrictions and requirements for pets! If you're going to opt for a rental property, make sure the landlord allows pets!!!!
The above is my personal experience.
