A few days ago, we learned from BYD officials that during this critical period of epidemic control, the company will deploy resources to start designing and manufacturing masks, disinfectant and protective material production equipment to meet the demand for emergency supplies for the epidemic in Wuhan and other provinces and cities.

BYD officials said that from around Feb. 17 until the outbreak is alleviated and eliminated, the brand is expected to provide 5 million masks/day capacity and 50,000 bottles/day of disinfectant liquid capacity. The masks will be produced by BYD's Baolong Nine Division, and the disinfectant solution will be produced by Shanwei BYD Industrial Co. The first batch of masks and disinfectant solution will be directed to be donated to specific groups of people, such as bus/taxi/internet car drivers and volunteers, and will be supplied to the market at an affordable price in the following period.

According to statistics, more than 70 automobile companies have donated donations worth a total of more than 1 billion yuan, of which BYD donated 10 million yuan to the infected area and an additional 1 million yuan in emergency medical supplies. In addition, BYD will also start the design and manufacture of protective material production equipment, and will cross the border to help other material production factories to improve production capacity during the epidemic.

Faced with the challenge of the epidemic, the government has opened a "green channel" for the qualification approval of emergency supplies, encouraging major companies to cross-border production of masks, disinfectant and other supplies, including BYD, many car companies have also responded positively to the production at the same time as the production actively apply for the production of medical supplies and access qualifications, which are expected to be approved soon. It is expected to be approved soon.

In addition to BYD, more than a dozen car companies, including Chery Ruifu, Jiangling Ford, Brilliance Renault Jinbei, SAIC Datsun, etc., have resumed production of ambulances in a hurry, and SAIC-GM-Wuling has announced that it has rebuilt 14 production lines to produce masks and other products to contribute to the prevention and control of the epidemic.
