Checked baggage refers to baggage that is placed in the care and transportation of Air China by the passenger and is tagged with a baggage identification tag. Each piece of checked baggage must not be less than 2 kilograms. The maximum weight of each piece of domestic checked baggage shall not exceed 45 kilograms. For international transportation, the weight of each piece of checked baggage shall not exceed 32 kg. The following items are not suitable for transportation for the following reasons: due to the hazardous nature of the item, its insecurity, or due to the weight, size, shape, or nature of the item, or due to the fragility or perishability of the item in view of the aircraft model, including but not limited to Items such as lithium batteries.
Lithium batteries in passenger baggage
According to ICAO's Technical Regulations for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (2011-2012 edition), portable electronic devices (watches, calculators, cameras, cell phones, laptop computers, portable camcorders, etc.) containing lithium or lithium-ion battery cells or batteries, carried on board by a passenger or a member of a flight crew for his or her own personal use, shall be carried as hand baggage on board.
