The end-of-life of a sterilized trachea is 3 years. Currently, tracheotomies are commonly used clinically for 6-12 months, and age has little effect on the length of time a tracheotomy is used. When the wall and stent of the sterilized trachea become defective after 6-8 years of use, it needs to be replaced. Endotracheal tubes are generally used for 5 years, and the stent should be replaced after 3-4 years of use.
The life span of a ventilator is generally 8-10 years, with different models having different life spans. Sterilized endotracheal tubes can be removed 3-4 months after surgery. If it is a plastic disposable sterilized cannula, it should be replaced in time if there is any rupture, bleeding instability and other abnormalities when using it.
