1970s

1982 Japan's first VRV intelligent central air-conditioning system (hereinafter referred to as VRV) was born in Daikin, ushering in a new era of multi-connected air-conditioning systems for buildings. VRV stands for Variable Refrigerant Volume, and the system realizes cooling or heating by direct evaporation or condensation of refrigerant, effectively reducing the need for conventional central air-conditioning. Reduced the traditional central air conditioning necessary circulating water pumps, fans and other power required to move the heat, while realizing the system's independent control of the zones, in 1982 after the market has won a wide range of affirmation, the market response is extremely enthusiastic.

Rapid growth

2006 Acquisition of Malaysia-based Orwell Group (OYL), which owns world-renowned brands such as MacWhite and AAF. This acquisition enabled the Daikin Group to jump to the second place in the world in terms of sales.

2006 Launched VRV III, a new generation of intelligent central air-conditioning systems, which dramatically improved energy efficiency.
