Eastern Polytechnic Homestay:
Many students in New Zealand can't live in the on-campus dormitory because the number of on-campus dormitories is very limited, so students are required to live off-campus, that is, in a homestay. For international students, the advantages of living in a host family are very obvious. Firstly, homestay can help you understand the culture of New Zealand better, and at the same time provide you with a good English language learning environment, which is very helpful to improve your English level. Secondly, homestay families are also very safe, which is also a concern of many parents. Dongguan relieves parents' worries about safety. The school conducts home visits and interviews with each homestay family, and students are admitted only after they pass the New Zealand Police exam. In addition, the homestay includes three meals a day. For students who don't want to solve the food problem by themselves, homestay is still a good choice.
East Institute of Technology Homestay Fee:The weekly homestay fee is about NZD 190 (including three meals a day).
Preparation and items list for studying in New Zealand:
1. Be sure to bring enough US dollars. New Zealand dollar is not an international currency and is not easy to exchange.
2. When you go to New Zealand to study, you need to prepare more medicines, especially for colds and gastrointestinal discomfort. Eating too many kinds of seafood in New Zealand is not very good for gastrointestinal function, so treat gastrointestinal discomfort. For those who have dental disease or appendicitis, treat the disease first before going abroad. Because the treatment of such diseases in New Zealand is not only expensive, but also the medical level is obviously inferior to the domestic.
3. The clothes you bring to study in New Zealand are mainly for spring and fall, and bedding can be brought. If you plan to live on your own, or cook for yourself, you can bring a rice cooker and some essential kitchenware for Chinese food. You should bring a big bag of good quality. It is very important that the bag is big and strong. Dictionary (English-Chinese or Chinese-English) or electronic dictionary, calculator (essential for math class), automatic pencils (no pens here). Computers are a little more expensive than at home, so you can bring some commonly used software. You can bring a multi-functional power socket board so that all the Chinese appliances you bring can be used in New Zealand. Wait a bit. Be well prepared to save money and avoid the trouble of some things you can't buy in New Zealand.
