Inquiring Minds was filmed at Renji Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine.
Before filming began, the lead actors went into a number of tertiary hospitals in advance for more than a month of internships and observation, following the doctors to sit in on clinics and treatments, learning how to communicate with patients, and gaining experience. The creative team not only built 8,000 square meters of hospital sets of different generations of old, middle-aged and young people, among which the cardiac center department and ICU studio covers an area of 3,000 square meters, and purchased and rented more than 200 sets of professional medical equipment such as ventilators, anesthesia machines, and CRRTs.
Every surgical scene and every professional action during the filming process was professionally guided by the senior doctors of the tertiary hospitals, and the filming in the operating rooms of the real tertiary hospitals lasted for 25 days, with a total of 491T of footage shot. In the early stage of creation, the screenwriter visited more than 10 tertiary hospitals, exchanged in-depth information with nearly 50 first-line cardiologists, added more than 130 medical WeChat, and invited a number of medical consultants to follow up on the creation of the whole process, from the outline to the screenplay, from the selection of cases to the deliberation of each line, are striving to achieve excellence.
Synopsis
Zhou Xiaofeng is the deputy chief physician of the Department of Cardiology at Dongli Hospital. He is an introverted person with a strict self-discipline in his work and life, and he is the key cultivator of the department head Bai He and the hospital leadership, and is the backbone of the Department of Cardiology. He becomes a partner in the coronary team with Lin Yi, an outspoken cardiologist, who has different medical philosophies and strong disagreements.
