RoHS 4 items: Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+), Rohs 6 items: Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs). Metal products only need to do rohs4 items, non-metal products do rohs6 items.
I. RoHS is a mandatory standard developed by the EU legislation, its full name is "Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment directive". It is mainly used to standardize the material and process standards of electrical and electronic products to make them more conducive to human health and environmental protection. The purpose of this standard is to eliminate lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers from electrical and electronic products.
II. RoHS is aimed at all electrical and electronic products that may contain these six hazardous substances during the production process and in raw materials, mainly including:
White appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, water heaters and so on, black appliances, such as audio and video products, DVDs, CDs, digital products, communication products and so on;
Electric tools, electric electronic toys, digital products, communication products and so on;
Electric tools, electric electric electronic toys, digital products, communication products and so on. Power tools, electric and electronic toys , medical and electrical equipment.
Three, RoHS certification is not so mysterious, as long as the appropriate qualifications and capabilities of the third-party notary laboratories can provide similar services for enterprises, is nothing more than the relevant products sent to a professional laboratory for testing, analysis, which lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) and other six hazardous substances in line with the RoHS Directive requirements. If it meets the requirements, you can get the RoHS compliance report and certificate, if not, you have to find another compliant product to replace.
Four, detection methods
1. First of all, non-destructive screening with XRF, fast and efficient, non-destructive, low cost. However, there are many interfering factors and the error is large.
2. Pb, Cd, Hg concentration was determined by AAS or ICP-AES after microwave digestion and acid digestion.
3. Determination of PBB, PBDE concentration by GC-MS after Soxhlet extraction.
4. Concentration of Cr6+ in the colorless surface layer was determined using the spot test method or boiling water extraction, or by UV-visible spectrophotometer according to EPA3060A....
