The main building is designed by an American company and the finishing is designed by a Taiwanese company, with a floor area of 33,240 square meters, 11 floors above the ground and 1 floor below the ground, together with the Heping Road Optometry Center, the hospital has a total floor area of 37,240 square meters, and it is an intelligent hospital which integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and prevention of blindness.

The hospital has a wide and bright circular waiting hall of more than 700 square meters, with 2 escalators and 11 vertical elevators. Through the organization of reasonably distributed vertical traffic, each functional flow channel of doctors, nurses, patients, family members and goods is relatively independent, so as to achieve speed and convenience without interfering with each other. The transportation design strictly follows the principle of barrier-free design to facilitate the movement of the blind. The hospital has also set up a rooftop garden to create a cozy family ward atmosphere. The wards are spacious and bright, with two beds in each ward and independent bathrooms. On the 11th floor, there is a Special Needs Ward, which is equipped with a parlor, kitchen, bathroom and a full range of home appliances, providing a more comfortable convalescent environment for patients of different levels. Surgical Area*** There are 10 laminar flow operating rooms, creating an international standard eye surgery center for the eye hospital. The research area of the hospital is equipped with the functions of scientific research, teaching, academic exchanges and. The Tianjin Ophthalmology Research Institute attached to the hospital has international level cell laboratory, molecular biology laboratory, pathology laboratory, immunology laboratory and biology laboratory, and the research area also has animal room, animal laboratory and microsurgery laboratory; in the aspect of teaching, there are libraries, electronic reading rooms, language laboratories, surgical observation rooms, postgraduate studios and classrooms, which are able to provide a good learning environment for postgraduates and trainees.
