PFA plastic for a small amount of perfluoropropyl perfluorovinyl ether and polytetrafluoroethylene **** polymer.
PFA plastic melt bonding enhanced, the viscosity of the solution decreases, while the performance of the PTFE compared to no change. This resin can be directly processed into products using ordinary thermoplastic molding methods.
It is suitable for making corrosion-resistant parts, abrasion-reducing and wear-resistant parts, seals, insulating and medical equipment parts, high-temperature wires and cables insulation, corrosion-resistant equipment, sealing materials, pumps and valves bushings, and chemical containers.
The melting point of PFA is about 580F, and its density is 2.13-2.16g/cc (grams/cubic centimeter).
Extended Information
PTFE is widely used as a non-stick coating for pots and pans and many modern cookware. PTFE is commonly used in containers and piping for handling reactive and corrosive chemicals. This is due to its non-reactive nature.
PFA is superior to PTFE in terms of flexibility, especially in piping applications. On the other hand, PFA has a lower flex life (i.e., the ability to withstand repeated folding) than PTFE. PTFE has a slightly higher heat resistance than PFA.
PFA is more affected by water absorption and weathering, but it is superior to PTFE in terms of salt spray resistance. The most important qualities of PFA, compared to PTFE, are its electrical properties. It has a dielectric constant of PTFE and a very similar dissipation factor. However, the dielectric strength of PFA is three to four times that of PTFE.Baidu Encyclopedia-PFA Plastic
