Mechanical engineering belongs to the mechanical specialty under the engineering category. It is an applied major that studies and solves theoretical and practical problems in the design, manufacture, operation, management and maintenance of machinery based on natural and technical sciences such as mathematics, physics, mechanics, materials science, control science and computer, and by means of theoretical analysis, computer simulation, physical experiments and engineering experiments.
This major was established in August 2006. Professional teachers all have doctoral degrees, rich teaching experience and high scientific research level. There are six professional laboratories, including Hebei Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Qinhuangdao Key Laboratory of Engineering Ceramics Precision Machining Technology, Research Center of Mechanical Dynamics and Reliability, and Research Center of Special Materials Processing Technology.
