The responsibilities of basic medical insurance and maternity insurance for urban workers and urban residents in Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the new rural cooperative medical care of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the price management of drugs and medical services of the National Development and Reform Commission, and the medical assistance of the Ministry of Civil Affairs will be integrated to form the National Medical Insurance Bureau, which is directly affiliated to the State Council.

Maoming, alias Southern Oil City, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province.
