How to wind a spring on an ordinary lathe

It is to use the spindle to clamp a round rod with about the same inner diameter as the spring, and change the lathe tool on the tool holder to a tube with an inner diameter a little larger than the spring steel wire, turning the spindle and walking the tool at the same time. The spring wire passes through the tube, which is secured to the tool rest. Of course the spring steel wire head has to be clamped to the round bar that turns with the spindle.
