Using Office 2003 to Extract Text from Pictures

Step 1: Install the components of Microsoft Office Document Imaging, click Start → Programs, and click Microsoft Office Document Imaging in Microsoft Office Tools to install and run.

Step 2: Open the picture or e-book with words, find the page to be extracted, press the PrintScreen key on the keyboard and take photos on the screen.

The third step is to open Microsoft Office Word 2003 and paste the screenshot just now. Click Print on the File menu. After installing the Microsoft Office Document Imaging component, a printer named Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer will be automatically installed.

As shown in figure 2, select "Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer" printer in the "Printer" drop-down list box, and other options need not be set. After clicking OK, set the file output path and file name (source file name is used by default), and a document in MDI format can be automatically generated soon.

Open the saved MDI file (as shown in Figure 3), use the mouse to select the text content as needed (the selected content is in the red box), then click the right mouse button and select "Send Text to Word" in the pop-up shortcut menu to automatically convert the picture content into a new Word document, and then you can edit this text in the Word document at will.

Tip: If you don't want to input the converted content into a new Word document, but want to paste it into an open Word document, just click Copy in the right-click menu in the above operation, and then paste it into the specified document.
