Luggage transportation with declared value
According to air transportation regulations, when a passenger’s checked baggage is damaged or lost during transportation, the carrier will compensate according to the maximum compensation limit per kilogram. When the actual value per kilogram of a passenger's checked baggage exceeds the maximum compensation limit per kilogram stipulated by the carrier, the passenger has the right to claim higher compensation, but must declare the value of the baggage when checking in the baggage and pay the declared value surcharge. fee. If baggage with a declared value is damaged during transportation due to the carrier, the carrier shall compensate according to the passenger's declared value.
Regulations on the carriage of baggage with declared value
(1) When the value of checked baggage for domestic transportation exceeds 50 yuan per kilogram or when the value of checked baggage for international transportation exceeds US$20 per kilogram , you can declare the value of your luggage. The carrier shall charge a declaration surcharge based on five thousandths of the passenger's declared value exceeding the maximum compensation limit.
(2) The declared value surcharge is in yuan. If the value is less than yuan, it should be rounded up to the nearest yuan.
(3) When the value declared by the passenger is in foreign currency, it should be converted into RMB according to the purchase price announced by the bank on that day.
(4) The maximum declared value of each passenger’s luggage is RMB 8,000. The declared value of the baggage shall not exceed the value of the baggage itself. If the carrier has objections to the declared value and the passenger refuses to accept inspection, the carrier has the right to refuse to accept the baggage.
(5) Baggage value declaration is not required for unchecked baggage and small animals.
(6) The chargeable weight of baggage with declared value is in kilograms. If the weight is less than kilograms, the weight should be rounded up. However, the actual weight should be kept to one decimal place.
(7) Unless there is a special agreement with another carrier, baggage value declaration can generally only be made on flights of the same carrier.
(8) The weight of baggage with declared value is not included in the free baggage allowance and shall be charged separately.
(9) Calculation formula for baggage declared value surcharge: Declared value surcharge = (declared value of baggage - maximum compensation per kilogram x weight of baggage with declared value) X 5.
Special baggage transportation
If the baggage items carried by passengers exceed the definition of baggage, under normal circumstances, the carrier can refuse to transport them. However, some special baggage items can be transported as baggage with the consent of the carrier and as required by the carrier, after taking appropriate measures or subject to certain conditions. These baggage items are called special baggage.
Carrying special baggage must comply with national laws, regulations, and the carrier's transportation regulations, and can only be carried on the premise of ensuring flight safety, personal safety, and ground safety. This chapter describes items that are not permitted to be transported as baggage and the handling of restricted baggage items, small animals and diplomatic bags.
1. Items that are not allowed to be transported as baggage
Items that are not allowed to be transported as baggage refer to the prohibited items that cannot be carried on aircraft according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China and are prohibited by the state. Such as: flammable and toxic compressed gases, corrosive objects (acids, alkalis), pathogenic agents (infectious bacteria, viruses and substances with live pathogens), explosives (munitions, fireworks, firecrackers and illumination bombs), Flammable liquids and solids (fire starters, heaters and fuels, matches, substances that easily cause combustion), oxidants (bleaching powder, peroxide), drugs (heroin, opium), toxic substances (potassium cyanide, arsenic, toxic Pesticides, toxic chemical reagents, rodenticides), radioactive substances (radioisotopes, medical or research samples containing radioactivity), etc. The above items may not be transported as baggage or checked in baggage under any circumstances, nor may they be brought into the cabin as unchecked baggage.

The total weight (including gross weight) carried by each passenger of medicines and cosmetics required by passengers for their journey, such as alcohol-containing medicines, conditioners, perfumes, etc., shall not exceed 2 kilograms or 2 liters. The net weight of each bottle shall not exceed 0.5 kg or 0.5 liters.

If there is no checked baggage or there is no time to put it in the checked baggage due to time constraints, passengers should take the initiative to hand over the restricted items to the security inspection department and put them into the "restricted item storage bag". Send it to the flight attendant for safekeeping and return it to you when the plane arrives.
When the security inspection department accepts restricted items, it should fill in the "Restricted Items Handover Form" together with the passengers in three copies; the first copy is the passenger copy and is handed to the passenger; the second copy is the stub copy and is sent to the departure station. Keep it; the third page is the arrival page, keep it with the restricted items and give it to the steward. After receiving the restricted items, the passenger must return the passenger coupon of the "Restricted Items Handover Form". 4. Light foam baggage transport
(1) Definition: Some baggage weighing less than 6,000 cubic centimeters per kilogram is called low-density baggage (i.e. light foam baggage). The weight of such luggage is calculated based on volumetric weight.
(2)Measurement method:
The calculation method of volumetric weight is as follows:
a. Measure the maximum length, width and height of the goods
p>
b. Round
If the measurement unit is centimeters, round up according to the principle of rounding
Example: 40.2X59.5X99.7CM=40X60X100CM
c. Conversion standard
6000 cubic centimeters = 1KG
d. The rounding method of volumetric weight is based on the actual weight:
For example: 318.15kgs = 318.5 kgs
757.37kgs = 757.5kgs
e. If the passenger carries multiple pieces of lightweight luggage, the volume of all the luggage should be calculated and then converted into volumetric weight
( 3) Counter operation
If a passenger carries light baggage, he must first calculate the actual volume of the baggage, then calculate the weight of the baggage according to the above volumetric weight calculation method, and finally collect it according to the general regulations for checked baggage. transport.
5. Transportation of dangerous goods
(1) Definition: Dangerous goods refer to items or substances that may cause harm to the lives and property of passengers during air transportation. They can be divided into The following categories:
Explosive items
Flammable gases, liquids, solids
Corrosive items
Poisonous gases , liquid, solid
Radioactive substances
Polymerizable substances
Magnetic substances
Infectious substances
(2) Handling: The above items are strictly prohibited from being brought onto the aircraft as checked baggage or self-care baggage, and will not be accepted at the counter
