Principle of wax therapy
Paraffin wax has a strong and lasting heating effect because of its low melting point from solid to liquid, large heat capacity, low thermal conductivity, slow heat dissipation and good softness, adhesion and plasticity after heating. In clinical treatment, the direct contact of wax cake (membrane) with the conductive surface of skin can promote blood circulation and inflammation, reduce swelling and pain, relieve muscle spasm, reduce the tension of fibrous tissue, increase its elasticity, soften scars and relieve adhesion.
Indications of wax therapy
1.? Injury and strain: such as contusion, sprain, traumatic bursitis, tenosynovitis, periostitis, muscle strain, etc.
2.? Joint dysfunction (under the guidance of medical staff): rheumatoid arthritis, traumatic arthritis, joint stiffness, scar contracture, circulatory disorder, etc.
3.? Long-term joint feeling cold, frostbite, poor peripheral circulation, neuralgia.
4.? Trauma or surgical sequelae (under the guidance of medical personnel): such as scar, adhesion, inflammatory infiltration, etc.
5.? Congenital muscular torticollis in children.
6. Various chronic adnexitis in gynecology.
