Generally, the forced detoxification in 2000-3000 yuan, voluntary detoxification 3000-5000 yuan, and the situation is not the same, the charges will also be different. In addition, because of the lack of national investment in medical care, drug addicts can receive free treatment for minor ailments in drug rehabilitation centers, but not for major ailments. There is also a lack of medical testing equipment in drug rehab centers, so if a drug addict needs to be tested to determine his/her condition, he/she will have to pay for it himself/herself. And the fees vary from city to city across the country.
(1) Compulsory detoxification physiological detoxification treatment fee per person not more than 3,000 yuan; rehabilitation period per person not more than 1,800 yuan; compulsory detoxification for not less than three months.
(2) Voluntary detoxification physiological de-addiction treatment of not less than fifteen days per course of treatment, the fee per person does not exceed 3000 yuan.
(3) If voluntary detoxification lasts for more than fifteen days, and if the voluntary detoxified person still asks for further consolidation of treatment, the bed charge is 30 yuan per person per day, and the food cost is at his own expense.
(4) The fees paid by the above drug addicts include treatment, nursing care, drugs, tests, water and electricity, bedding, toiletries, meals and so on. In addition, no other fees shall be charged under other names.

Overview of Drug Rehabilitation Centers in China
Because China is currently unable to implement the medical prevention and treatment model of drug rehabilitation used in foreign countries, China's current policy is based on compulsory drug rehabilitation. Drug treatment centers in China are divided into three categories: the first is compulsory drug treatment centers, which are under the supervision of the public security department; the second is compulsory isolation drug treatment centers, which are under the supervision of the judicial department; and the third is drug treatment medical institutions, which are under the supervision of the health department. According to the regulations, first-time drug addicts are compulsorily detoxified in a drug rehabilitation centre, and those who relapse are admitted to a re-education-through-labour unit. However, it is also necessary for the Government to set up re-education-through-labour units, providing funds and manpower. Moreover, the number of drug addicts is so large that it is virtually impossible to accommodate them. So only a small percentage of them are actually admitted.
China has set up at least 700 compulsory drug treatment centers through compulsory treatment, which are able to take in 300,000 to 400,000 people a year, and there are also about 100 re-education-through-labor centers, which are also able to take in 100,000 people a year. So this total adds up to about 500,000 people per year, but the actual number of drug addicts is now at least 5 million, and the closed environment of the compulsory or labor camps can only solve the problem of drug addiction by about 10 percent, and a lot of people can only think of some other kinds of drug addiction treatment methods.
China's first and largest drug rehabilitation center is the Kunming Compulsory Drug Rehabilitation Center. It was built in 1989 and covers an area of more than 3,200 acres.
