On May 2, 2014, a Venezuelan fishing vessel caught fire in the Pacific Ocean 1,770 kilometers off the coast, trapping 11 Chinese crew members in a single life raft, four of whom suffered severe burns. The U.S. Air Force parachute rescue team immediately dispatched two "Combat King 2" rescue aircraft, three HH-60 "Pave Hawk" helicopters, 48 people involved in the rescue.
