Production and sale of medical equipment

As the saying goes, "If one side is in trouble, all sides will support it." In 2020, a sudden COVID-19 epidemic disrupted our lives. With the increasingly severe epidemic situation, all walks of life have donated money and materials to the epidemic areas. Up to now, more than 70 auto companies have participated in the donation, with a cumulative amount of more than 654.38 billion RMB. However, under such circumstances, there is still a shortage of medical materials such as negative pressure ambulances and masks needed in epidemic areas.

In addition to ordinary people, medical workers fighting in the front line also have a great demand for masks. Since the New Year's Eve, masks have been basically sold out all over the country, and the materials of masks and protective clothing in hospitals around the country have gradually dried up. However, few masks donated to epidemic areas can really meet the needs of medical staff.

In this special period when it is not recommended to go out, the time for the factory to resume work is delayed, and the vacant factory buildings and assembly lines are not as good as being used. On February 6th, Baojun Automobile, a subsidiary of SAIC-GM-Wuling, took the lead in saying that it would transform its joint suppliers into masks by rebuilding its production line. Then, on February 8, the first batch of 200,000 masks produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling joint suppliers were successfully rolled off the assembly line, which will be mainly used for civilian use.

In just a few days, the products of the mask production line rebuilt by Wuling Automobile went offline, and the Wuling brand mask that was not sold for the time being was officially born. In addition, it is estimated that by the end of February, SAIC-GM-Wuling will have built a 2000-square-meter dust-free workshop and 14 mask production lines, including 4 N95 mask production lines and 10 general medical protective mask production lines. It is estimated that the daily production capacity will exceed10.7 million pieces.

As early as February 5th, some media found through Tianyancha that the business scope of Shanwei BYD Industrial Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD Industry, changed, and the research, development, production and sales of disinfectant products increased.

Before the epidemic prevention and control entered a critical period, faced with a serious shortage of medical protective materials, BYD officially announced on February 8 that it would invest in the production of medical materials such as masks. BYD began to design and manufacture protective materials production equipment through resource allocation, and assisted in the production of masks and disinfectant to meet the urgent demand for protective materials at present.

According to the plan, BYD Academia Sinica is responsible for the production of disinfectant, and nine electronic business groups are responsible for the production of masks. The production of masks is arranged in Shenzhen Baolong Factory. In terms of production efficiency, BYD expects that the mask production capacity will reach 5 million tablets/day and the disinfectant production capacity will reach 50,000 bottles/day by the end of February. The first batch of masks and disinfectant is expected to be delivered around February 17, and the whole production will be maintained until the epidemic situation is alleviated and eliminated.

In addition to Wuling and BYD, Guangzhou Automobile Group, as a state-owned enterprise, will also join in aiding the production of medical materials. Guangzhou Automobile Group said that this work will be handed over to the headquarters of Guangzhou Automobile Group's parts business and will not affect the main business of vehicle manufacturing.

Up to now, Guangzhou Automobile Group is actively investigating and understanding the manufacturing, assembly and debugging technology of mask production equipment, and studying the technical feasibility of building a new mask production line. In addition, a number of employees were sent to the local mask factory to learn and master the molding, welding, mechanical, electrical and other related technologies and production processes of protective mask production equipment as soon as possible. Although Guangzhou Automobile Group has not started to produce medical materials, it is ready to contribute to epidemic prevention and control.

In addition to the above three car companies, Shaanxi Automobile recently took the initiative to undertake the production task of goggles in epidemic prevention materials required by the province. Although Shaanxi Automobile has not returned to work, it took only two days to complete all the preparatory work needed to produce goggles and successfully assembled goggles samples. It is estimated that the assembly capacity of goggles of Shaanxi Automobile can reach more than 3,000 per day.

On February 6th, the news that SAIC-GM-Wuling switched to masks during this critical period of fighting the COVID-19 epidemic nationwide attracted netizens' attention. Although we can't comment on Wuling's switch to masks with gains and losses, it doesn't affect our praise for the company's role in times of crisis.

The operation of these car companies to "use masks" to fight the COVID-19 epidemic also shows people that when the country and users need it, car companies can not only shoulder the responsibility of the auto industry itself, but also actively participate in rescue and prevention work and provide more important help to the society.

In fact, this is not the first time that the automobile industry has crossed the border. As early as World War II, American automakers collectively switched to producing military weapons. 194 1 1 In February, after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, the United States was United as never before. At that time, all factories were preparing for war. For the automobile industry, which has long been familiar with large-scale assembly line operation, it is the first time for tank production.

It is not just car companies that invest in medical aid materials. On the afternoon of February 6th, China Petrochemical issued a document seeking cooperation in mask production. With the help of netizens, I found my partner within three hours. By noon on February 7th, China Petrochemical had completed 1 1 mask production line with its partners and entered the stage of equipment installation. According to preliminary estimation, the mask production of China Petrochemical Company will reach130,000 pieces/day around February, and will increase to 600,000 pieces/day by the end of February. The estimated production capacity in March can reach1100,000 pieces/day or more.

With the end of the Spring Festival holiday, most enterprises have started to return to work, and the production capacity of medical materials has been greatly improved. With the efforts of manufacturers, the shortage of medical materials such as masks should be improved in a short time. I believe that with the joint efforts of all walks of life, we can win this epidemic war as soon as possible!
