Wang Hanjie (1905--1998), a woman, was born in Xinhua Street, Gulü Town, Xincai County, and graduated from the Mathematics Department of Yenching University in Beiping, China, in 1929, and was the first female graduate in Xincai County. Gu Zongrui (1886~1972)
Gu Zongrui, a native of Daitou village, went to Shanghai at the age of 13 to work as an apprentice in a customs brokerage firm.
