Medical waste refers to the direct or indirect infectious, toxic and other hazardous wastes generated by medical institutions in the course of medical treatment, prevention, health care and other related activities, including infectious, pathological, injurious, pharmaceutical and chemical wastes. These wastes contain a large number of bacterial viruses, and have certain characteristics of spatial contamination, acute viral infection and latent infection. If they are not better managed, discarded at will, and allowed to be mixed with domestic garbage and dispersed into people's living environments, they will contaminate the atmosphere, water sources, land as well as animals and plants, cause the spread of diseases, and seriously jeopardize the physical and mental health of human beings. All medical waste and household waste can never be mixed.
