Professional Introduction
Zunyi Medical College's Department of Medical Information Engineering was founded in 2008 as part of Zunyi Medical College's effort to develop a new medical information system. 2008, is a teaching unit set up by Zunyi Medical College to meet the demand for talents in economic and social development, especially the demand for medical information construction talents. At present, there are three majors, namely, Information and Computing Science (Medical Informatics), Medical Information Engineering and Internet of Things Engineering, with nearly 300 students enrolled. Medical information engineering is the integration and application of electronics, computers, communications, sensing and detection, medical intelligent instruments, modern medicine, hospital management (for) science and other fields.
Major Courses
Main subjects: computer science, medicine, electronic information science, mathematics.
Major core courses: signals and systems, medical instrumentation, software engineering, microcontroller and embedded systems, database principles, computer networks.
Professional foundation courses: advanced mathematics, introduction to computer, advanced language programming, linear algebra, object-oriented programming, discrete mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics.
Major specialized courses: Data Structure and Algorithm Analysis, Fundamentals of Software Technology, Medical Informatics, Mathematical and Analog Electricity, Medical Electronics, Principles of Computer Composition, Medical Management (Handling), Hospital Information System, Sensor and Detection Technology, Principles of Communication, Engineering Practice, Medical Imaging Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence.

Medical Information Engineering cultivates professional and practical talents with broad knowledge and strong comprehensive application ability in medical information acquisition, transmission, processing, analysis, storage and development of new medical electronics and information instruments.
