Most of the disciplines and specialties of the college have a history of nearly 60 years, and some of them are new disciplines and specialties.
The college has four departments: Department of Mechanical Design Engineering, Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Department of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, and Department of Thermal and Power Engineering; a dozen research institutes and research centers such as the CIMS Institute, Tribology Research Institute, and Special Processing Research Institute; and a dozen laboratories such as the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Design and Manufacturing, and the Mechanical Engineering Experiment Center.
There are 286 faculty members in the college, including 15 doctoral supervisors, 45 professors, nearly 100 associate professors, 50 doctoral degree holders, and 50 on-the-job doctoral degree holders. There are 4 post-doctoral students, 121 doctoral students, 621 master's degree students, 318 engineering master's degree students, 3756 undergraduate students and 285 adult education students.
