University of Sydney Study Abroad Application Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree: For applicants from mainland China who go straight into undergraduate study, they will need to have at least one year's experience of studying at a Chinese university, have an average grade of 80-85 or above, and an IELTS requirement of 6.5-7.5. Also, not all programs accept applications from international students; if you apply for the Foundation Program, you will need to enter the University of Sydney Foundation Program first, pass all exams in the Foundation Program, and then reapply to the undergraduate program with your final academic results from the Foundation Program. The IELTS score required for the Foundation Program is between 5 and 6, and a high school average of at least 80 is required.

Master of Arts in Teaching: The Master of Arts in Teaching has different criteria depending on the applicant's specialization and undergraduate institution. Applications for the general business school programs require a minimum grade point average of at least 75 for applicants from at least 211 colleges, and a minimum grade point average of 85 for applicants from non-211 colleges. Some special programs have work experience or other requirements. IELTS requirements are 6.5-7.5 (requirements vary by program, some have a single requirement, e.g. TESOL requires a minimum of 8 in listening and 7.5 in reading and writing).

Graduate students and PhDs: In general, applicants for scholarships, regardless of their graduating school, are required to have a grade point average of at least 85. Generally, they need to have formal research experience and publications in official journals. IELTS requires a minimum score of 7.

Each school has its own special requirements for different majors.
