The Social Insurance Law also stipulates the legal responsibility of employers who do not apply for social insurance registration and do not pay social insurance premiums in full and on time. If an employer fails to register for social insurance and fails to make corrections within the period of time ordered by the social insurance administrative department, the employer shall be subject to a fine of not less than double and not more than triple the amount of social insurance premiums payable, and the directly responsible supervisors and other directly responsible persons shall be subject to a fine of not less than 500 yuan and not more than 3,000 yuan.
