Part I
Time flies, unknowingly finished the journey of the freshman year, another long-term summer vacation, before this summer vacation, I have made arrangements for myself early. Because there are two months of vacation, I plan to spend a month after the vacation to find a job, experience life, exercise their own ability, because I think as a medical student, in addition to learning good theoretical knowledge, practice is also very important. In order to be familiar with the future internship, I decided to go to the hospital apprenticeship, on the one hand, to consolidate the knowledge learned, on the other hand, to accept some of the things that can not be learned in the classroom. So I chose the town center hospital two inpatient department.
Because it is a branch from the central hospital, so the work of seeing patients, cashier, discharge procedures, nursing and so on are all taken care of by four medical staff, every day is very busy. I'm a clinical professional, and only one year of study, to understand only some basic theoretical knowledge, for the work of the hospital is almost all the way, can not understand.
In the beginning, I just help to change the patient's medication on the drip, and observe the patient at any time to see if there is any abnormal performance. These are not very eye-catching, but also reflects the responsibility of a medical staff, sometimes a small negligence can lead to a big mistake.
Because of my learning, the doctors and nurses there are very patient to teach me. I first learned to give patients injections. Intramuscular injection, subcutaneous injection, intravenous drip, I now learn all, these in the professional class can not learn. After two days, I was so comfortable with it that I was given dozens of patients to inject. I'm grateful for their trust and teaching, and I hope I didn't let them down.
Although not much has been learned about my profession, but the knowledge of health care has been learned a lot, knowledge of the doctor's orders, medication, infusion, fluid replacement, the basic essentials of the wound dressing almost all of them, the beginning of what to do feel overwhelmed, but as long as you are willing to be open-minded to learn, it will be good.
The hospital is in a small town, so most of the patients are honest farmers. Farmers have to work every day, and always deal with dirty work, of course, can not guarantee that it is very clean, the hospital is narrow, a lot of people, a variety of flavors will be mixed together, and the old man's ear is not good, do not hear the doctor's words clearly. In the face of these, the doctors always take great pains to ask about their conditions and advise them with a smile on their faces until they are clear. This makes me very touched, because in the modern tense relationship between doctors and patients, only to put the obliged personnel and patients in the same position, in order to better establish the doctor-patient relationship, the medical ethics of medical personnel also benefit from the embodiment at the same time. So I often accompany the hospitalized patients to chat, to understand their worries and the joy of health, which is also my previous non-verbal character has changed.
The patient's affirmation of my many times, let me more firmly my dream of medicine, even if only in the township hospital apprenticeship, see the world is not very wide. But as long as there is a sincere attitude to learn medicine, the harvest is always there, I learned to deal with people, learned how to communicate with people, how to establish a good doctor-patient relationship, learned how to do a good doctor.
There is a phrase in the oath of school medical students "to save lives and help the wounded, not to spare the hardship, the pursuit of perseverance". I know, as a doctor, in the mastery of advanced medical technology at the same time, but also to love work, integrity and dedication, wholeheartedly for the sake of patients.
From this practice, each of the medical staff's dedication, everyone's smile is always affecting me, I learned to treat everyone sincerely, learned to be patient with the patient, learned to be down-to-earth learning ...... knowledge is endless, I have to learn a lot more.
This personal practice, gave me a lot, in the future, I will continue to study hard, for my medical dream struggle, to become a good doctor struggle!
Part II
Finally ended nearly half a year of internship life, the heart is really mixed feelings, looking back on this time, I began with a nervous and fearful mood to the xx hospital internship, and has been to participate in many activities, familiar with the cozy hospital environment and workplace culture, and adapt themselves to take the initiative to contact the crowd, not only the patients, and even with the other staff members to establish good relations, this is not learned in school, but also to participate in the work of the hospital.
The most special part of the internship was leading the psychiatric group. I used to think of psychiatric patients as scary and aggressive, but after leading seven groups in a row, I gradually changed my mind about them. From the group activities, I realized that this group of psychiatric patients is actually very cute, and the medical and social work team of XX Hospital has inspired their potential through the design of the activities. At first, I was a bit shocked to come into contact with psychiatric patients, but now I am glad that I can get more out of it than other undergraduate internship students.
In addition to psychiatry, during the summer, because I had to go to the hospital every day for my internship, I was exposed to a wider range of things, and I started to learn how to take on cases. I learned how to introduce myself to patients, how to listen attentively to their needs, and that a patient needs the cooperation of various specialties in the hospital to give them support and help.
In the XX hospital, I saw a lot of life and death, but also saw a lot of terminal cancer patients continue to struggle with the disease, many patients optimistic mood and actively want to live the willpower to move me, the hospital volunteers for the patient's kind of service also let me y impressed. Although many people feel that hospitals are a place of sorrow and sadness, XX Hospital has made the whole hospital a warm and vibrant place through some activities such as charity sales, allowing many patients and their families to see the hope of upward mobility in this hospital.
After the internship, I went back to read the textbooks, and I found myself more able to understand the meaning of the books than I did before the internship, which is the function of the internship! I think this is the function of the internship. It allows us to understand the difference between theory and practice, and it also allows us to learn how to connect theory from practice.
All in all, in these six months, I have gone from being a student with no knowledge of medical social work to a half-practitioner who can deal with patients and their families independently and understand how to connect with other resources.
I would like to thank XX Hospital for giving me the opportunity to do this internship, and I would also like to thank Chia Chun's internship supervisor for leading the interns and teaching them the right direction while they were busy at work. I am also very happy to have been able to learn from each other and to become good friends with the other interns during this intensive internship. Although the internship lasted for a long time, it is inevitable to feel tired, but this period of time has given me an immense harvest, in addition to practical work on the learning, the expansion of interpersonal relationships, the workplace culture of the hundred, and some activities to participate in all let me benefit a lot, such a full life, I think it will be an unforgettable period of time in my life.
Part III
This summer vacation I came to the hospital for a one-month nursing apprenticeship. Deep into the daily work of nurses, personally experienced the sweet and sour of being a nurse, which realized that being a nurse is not as easy as I thought. Nursing is indeed very hard, a moment is the infusion, blood, a moment is the injection to give medicine, a moment and then have to Chinese medicine enema. If the patient is not feeling well, the first thing he will think of is the nurse, and if the patient has any problems, he will still be a nurse, and the patient will have to change his medication and fluids, and then he will have to call the nurse....... There will always be nurses in the wards, and they will always be busy.
The internship 1 month, the most profound feeling is that the clinical is the consolidation of theoretical knowledge base. Clinical field experience, field exercises, let me reproduce in school to learn those boring and stubborn knowledge of all the questions raised. For example, why do I need to read all this pharmacology and pathology? What's the point of memorizing it? It seems that there is no point in memorizing it, the knowledge is comprehensive, but after learning it, I always feel that I have been studying only for the exams, and there is no part of me. In school, no one asked me what adverse reactions these medicines would have, even if I knew that there were these adverse reactions, but I never really saw them, I don't know how serious a medicine is when it is used incorrectly, no one asked me what the clinical manifestations of this kind of disease are, and I have never really seen these clinical manifestations, in the end, what is it like? Is it just like in the books? Waiting for ...... more than half a month of apprenticeship life also help me in the future work to do medical and nursing cooperation. Doctors and nurses have the same duties, are to give the patient to solve the physical and psychological pain. Only when doctors and nurses work closely together can they bring benefits to patients. And to do this, first of all, we must understand their own work and each other's work. As a future nurse, you must understand the work of nurses, so this apprenticeship I think both played a bridge role in the early contact with the clinical, but also to enhance the clinical thinking ability, develop the hands-on ability, and enhance the confidence.
First, a month of apprenticeship so that I re-recognize the noble profession of nurses
In my previous impression, nurses are synonymous with patience and care. I have always thought that their work is very easy and simple, only need to carry out the doctor's instructions, "according to the prescription" on the line, other work is also some trivial things. This time I through the nursing apprenticeship, the first in-depth to the daily work of nurses, personally experienced the bitter, spicy, sweet and sour, and realized that the original nurses are not as simple as I imagined. Nurse's work is a word "tired", I run after them every day are tired, and they not only have to keep walking in the sick room, but also to the patient needle medicine, in fact, more tired than the doctor, but they did not complain. A nurse, as long as the workstation, she is full of strength. They are fully committed to a battle: to show their vitality inside and outside the ward; to dedicate their energy along with their smiles unreservedly to the patients.
Shift handover is usually at 8:00 in the morning, nurses and doctors have to attend, of course I am no exception. The director of the department stood in the front, last night on the night shift nurses began to do their nursing pathology shift report, and then the doctor on duty, in addition to the doctors will have to say about their own jurisdiction of the situation of critically ill patients, and finally the two directors and the head of the nurses to summarize the end of the daily must do the shift. I personally believe that the shift is very important, it is a disciplinary constraint on doctors and nurses, so that we health care workers understand that the patient's life in our hands, we must have a strong organizational and disciplinary, to be a conscientious and responsible health care workers.
Second, January's apprenticeship has opened up my eyes and increased my knowledge
During the apprenticeship, I followed the teacher, listened carefully to the explanation and guidance, learned about the basic operation of many medical equipment, observed and practiced many kinds of medical operations, such as vital signs to determine the body weight, blood pressure, respiration, pulse, temperature, etc. There are many professional instruments for the first time. Many of the specialized instruments were new to me. There were many seemingly simple nursing operations that I realized were not so until I actually did them. During the five short weeks in the hospital, new things came to me one after another, bringing me a shock of excitement at times. I was full of curiosity, observing attentively and asking questions actively, and the nurses patiently explained to me, so that I learned how to use some medical instruments, and basically grasped the essentials and precautions of nursing operations. They vividly analyzed each seemingly simple operation, and gave me many opportunities to practice with these instruments and equipment and practice nursing operations under the premise of rules and regulations. These have given me some perceptual understanding of the work I will be doing in the future.
Third, the January internship has given me a certain understanding of the holistic care of medical and nursing cooperation
This is extremely important to my future work, and is also one of the most important purposes of this internship. Through this understanding, I realized that the duties of doctors and nurses are highly unified, and the goal is to relieve the physical and psychological pain of patients. Only when doctors and nurses achieve close cooperation can they bring benefits to patients. And to do this, we must first understand our own work and each other's work. This accumulation of knowledge is also what I gained from this nursing internship. Specifically, I learned:
Holistic care requires a high degree of collaboration between doctors and nurses, with the close cooperation between the department head and the nurse manager being the key. In the ward to carry out holistic care before the director of the nursing department down to the department first contact with the director of the department, its work plan, implementation program, etc. to the director of the department, and strive for the director of the department's support. The nurse director in the development of the implementation of the overall nursing work plan, system, responsibilities, staff division of labor, scheduling methods and other aspects must be discussed with the director of the department.
The director of the department attaches great importance to this work, emphasizing the significance of the implementation of the overall nursing care of the doctors and nurses with the specific work plan at the shift meeting, and require doctors to actively support and cooperate. The department organizes nurses to carry out holistic nursing knowledge training, the director of the department and the doctor must also participate in the study. I believe that with the enhancement of learning, my progress will be more and more.
