What does EPC mode mean?

DB (Design and Construction): The integration of design and construction.

EPC (Engineering, Procedure and Construction): Integration of design, procurement and construction.

Although both DB and EPC modes belong to general contracting mode, they are essentially different. DB mode mainly includes design and construction, but does not include the procurement of process equipment and engineering equipment. It can be seen that the DB model does not stipulate whether the procurement belongs to the general contracting work or the owner's work. In general, the owner is responsible for the procurement of main materials and equipment, and the owner can organize or entrust a professional supplier of complete sets of equipment and materials to undertake the procurement work. EPC mode clearly stipulates that the general contractor is responsible for design, procurement, construction and other work.
