Animal experimentation is an extremely important part of teaching and research in medical schools. Medical school teaching and research occupies an extremely important position. Only when the research is carried out with Specefic pathogen Free (SPF) animals, the results can be recognized by countries all over the world. Therefore, the management of SPF animal laboratories, where SPF animal experiments are conducted, is extremely important in the construction and development of medical schools.
The SPF animal laboratory in our university has an area of 756m2, of which the purification area is 445m2, with independent air supply, exhaust and air-conditioning systems, and is functionally divided into clean corridors, clean storage rooms, experimental preparation rooms, rearing rooms and laboratories, etc. In addition to the hardware, the software is also available. Under the condition of hardware, software management is especially important, without strict scientific management, the significance of SPF animal laboratory will be offset. Here, it is necessary to point out in particular that the maintenance cost of SPF grade animal laboratories is alarming, how to reduce or decentralize the maintenance cost is the bottleneck that restricts the development of SPF grade animal laboratories, so the establishment of SPF grade animal laboratories that suit the actual situation of our university to guarantee the mechanism and the management mode, so that the laboratories can be operated normally and give full play to the maximum benefit, has become an urgent problem to be solved.
This project intends to take the protection mechanism and management mode of SPF animal laboratories as the main research content, and to further improve and perfect the management and operation systems by investigating the protection mechanism and management mode of famous SPF animal laboratories in China, and absorbing their experiences in environmental equipment management, personnel management, animal management, and open laboratory management, etc., and combining them with the situation of SPF animal laboratories of the university itself. Improve the management and operation system; through the research of large hospitals, biological and pharmaceutical companies around the school, seek cooperation with them, provide paid services, disperse the maintenance costs to the community, fully absorb and utilize the economic resources of the community, and take the road of joint *** construction, resource *** enjoyment, so as to establish a set of management mode suitable for the operation and sustainable development of SPF animal laboratories of the university.

The scope of this study includes some undergraduate and graduate students and teachers of clinical medicine, biotechnology and anesthesiology who are involved in animal experiments.

This project, through research and in-depth study, grasps the first-hand information and experience in the management of SPF animal laboratories, and then analyzes, summarizes, and converts the external information into a management model applicable to SPF animal laboratories of the university, in which:
