Waste masks are collected in special buckets, transported by special vehicles, transferred to special warehouses, and burned in full.
Masks have become a necessity for personal protection. How to correctly dispose of discarded masks is the focus of the current garbage classification department. In order to prevent secondary pollution caused by discarded masks and other problems, the Changsha Urban Management and Environmental Sanitation Department implemented special bucket collection, special vehicle transportation, and special disposal of discarded masks.
Near a discarded mask collection bucket at Changsha South Railway Station, Master Zhang, a staff member of the Dongshan Environmental Sanitation Station in Yuhua District, and his colleagues were "fully armed" and sprayed disinfectant around the lid of the collection bucket before uncovering the Open the lid to disinfect the inside of the collection bucket again, and then use pliers and scissors to discard the discarded masks.
Then it is bundled, disinfected, loaded into the truck, and then replaced with a new garbage bag. It takes nearly 5 minutes to complete a familiar process. Master Zhang has to face more than 200 such buckets for discarded masks a day, and each bucket needs to be cleaned twice a day.
Disposal of discarded masks in daily life should be treated differently:
The Changsha Municipal Domestic Waste Classification Leading Group Office reminds the general public to tie discarded masks tightly, seal them in a sealed bag and put them into the waste disposal area. There is a special collection container for masks, and you should wash your hands in time after putting them in.
Medical staff suggest that if you wear a mask in your daily life and go to public areas with high traffic such as hospitals, subways, buses, supermarkets, etc., then the used discarded masks belong to medical waste. Everyone needs to put it into special medical waste bins for unified treatment.
