What is elgiloy material

Elgiloy applications:

Springs, seals, semiconductor components, orthodontics, medical devices, surgical implants, weixing communications equipment and weapons systems.

Description of Elgiloy

Elgiloy is a non-magnetic cobalt-chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy with a unique combination of very high strength while maintaining excellent formability, superior corrosion resistance, and high fatigue strength. Additional strength gains of up to 25% can be achieved by aging the cold rolled material. Elgiloy is resistant to liu chemical stress corrosion with high resistance to cracking, and as a result is the alloy of choice in the harshest acids as well as environments. In seawater, Elgiloy alloys? are virtually impervious to crevice corrosion and stress corrosion and are even eroded at zui high strength levels. Elgiloy performs over a wide range of temperatures: from cryogenic to 850?°F (454?° C).
