Education:
Basic education in the DPRK is compulsory, with elementary school starting at the age of six, and at the end of the ten years of compulsory education, students have the option of continuing to high school or vocational school. During compulsory education, students receive free education, including textbooks, clothing and food. Higher education is also free, but one needs to pass an exam to enter university.
Medical care:
The DPRK's medical system is a socialist public **** health system, where basic medical services are free, but medicines and advanced medical services require payment. As DPRK's medical facilities and equipment are relatively outdated, the quality of medical services is also low.
Housing:
Housing in the DPRK is divided into public and private housing, with public housing being allocated by the government and generally rented for free or at a low cost. Private housing, on the other hand, needs to be purchased or rented and is relatively expensive. However, due to the housing shortage in the DPRK, many people are unable to own their own homes and have to live in group homes or share with other families.
