On the separate collection, transportation and temporary storage of medical waste, the correct practice is that before containing medical waste, the medical waste packaging or containers should be carefully inspected to ensure that there is no damage, leakage and other defects.
Medical waste refers to the direct or indirect infectious, toxic and other hazardous wastes generated by medical and health institutions in the course of medical treatment, prevention, health care and other related activities. Infectious wastes, pathological wastes, injurious wastes, pharmaceutical wastes and chemical wastes cannot be mixed and collected. Small quantities of pharmaceutical waste may be mixed with infectious waste, but this should be noted on the label.
The management of discarded narcotic, psychotropic, radioactive, toxic and other drugs and their related wastes shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, administrative regulations and the relevant national regulations and standards, and the waste chemical reagents and disinfectants in bulk in chemical wastes shall be handed over to the specialized agencies for disposal, and infectious wastes and injurious wastes put into packages or containers shall not be taken out.
Precautions for the transportation of medical waste:
There should be warning signs on the outer surface of each package or container containing medical waste, and Chinese labels should be attached to each package or container, the contents of which should include the unit of generation of medical waste, the category and the need for special instructions. Delivery personnel from the location of medical waste generation every day will be sorted and packaged medical waste in accordance with the specified time and route to the internal designated temporary storage site.
The delivery personnel shall check whether the marking, labeling and sealing of the packages or containers meet the requirements before delivering the medical wastes, and shall not deliver the medical wastes that do not meet the requirements to the temporary storage place. Transportation personnel in the transportation of medical waste, should prevent damage to the packaging or container and medical waste loss, leakage and proliferation, and to prevent direct contact with the body of medical waste.
