Kunming Technician College is based on Kunming Senior Technical School, which integrates Kunming Traffic Technical School, Kunming Chemical Technical School and Kunming Forestry Technical School. On August 19, 2022, the People's Government of Yunnan Province issued the Reply of Yunnan Provincial People's Government on Agreeing to Establish Kunming Technician College (Fu [2022] No.26), agreeing to establish Kunming Technician College by integrating Kunming Traffic Technician School, Kunming Chemical Technician School and Kunming Forestry Technician School based on Kunming Senior Technical School.
Kunming Technician College has been running for 49 years, mainly focusing on more than 30 majors in eight categories, such as intelligent manufacturing, electrical technology, information technology, automobile technology, business technology, preschool education, construction engineering, medical and health care, and currently has more than 5,000 students. The school has exceeded the enrollment plan issued by the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security for consecutive 14 years, and the demand for graduates is in short supply.
