Ahava was founded in 1945, and changed to Weihai after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Yuan Dynasty was called Qingquan Mine. In the thirty-first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1398), in order to prevent Japanese invaders from harassing, a garrison was set up, which was called Ahava. Named after Wei Zhenhai. At that time, the school with the highest teaching quality was founded by China Anglican missionary Brown. Ren Huang School, the only government-run school founded by colonial authorities; Ahava has the first girls' school-"Shude Girls' School"; There is also the first middle school founded by local people-"Qidong Middle School".
With the increase of westerners, the medical and health conditions in Ahava have also improved. The colonial authorities opened three hospitals in China. Through the old historical photos, we can clearly see the British People's Hospital in the commercial port area. Liu Gongdao Royal Navy Sanatorium is the best medical institution in the city, but it only serves foreigners, and all China patients are stopped.
