Is the information science major a stem

The so-called STEM is: Science (Science), Technology (Technology), Engineering (Engineering), Mathematics (Mathematics) initials.

The U.S. government's STEM program is a program that encourages students to major in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, and continually increases investment in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education to develop students' scientific and technological literacy.

January 31, 2006, U.S. President George W. Bush in his State of the Union address announced an important plan - "American Competitiveness Initiative" (American Competitiveness Initiative, ACI), put forward one of the goals of education in the era of knowledge economy is to to develop STEM-literate people, calling it the key to global competitiveness.

January 11, 2009, the U.S. National Science Board (National Science Board, hereinafter referred to as the Board) on behalf of the NSF released to the U.S. President-elect Barack Obama, an open letter, the theme of which is to "improve the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics of all U.S. students (hereinafter referred to as STEM)" education. To be clear: the nation's economic prosperity and security require that the United States maintain world leadership and guidance in science and technology. Pre-college STEH education is fundamental to establishing leadership and should be one of the nation's most important missions.

In 2011, President Obama launched a new version of the American Innovation Strategy designed to ensure economic growth and prosperity. The new American Innovation Strategy states that the future economic growth and international competitiveness of the United States depends on its ability to innovate. The "Innovation in Education Movement" guides a joint effort by the public*** and private sectors to strengthen science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.

In April 2011, the U.S. government, in an effort to attract talent, announced globally that foreign students studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at U.S. universities would be allowed to continue to work and intern in the U.S. for up to 12 months after graduating as students, while U.S. Immigration and Enforcement (ICE) would continue to work and intern in the U.S. for up to 12 months after graduating as students. Graduates from U.S. universities in Engineering and Mathematics may remain in the U.S. as students for up to 12 months after graduation, while graduates from selected programs on the U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Enforcement (ICE) list may remain on OPT for up to 29 months. This gives foreign students in science and engineering ample time to apply for work visas and change their immigration status while on OPT, ICE said, a major step in the Obama administration's continuing commitment to fixing the broken immigration system and expanding the U.S. pool of talented, highly skilled graduates.

Computer engineering

The future direction of computer development is bound to be hot, so as long as you know how to study computers, know how to write some programs, or can make such as the system design of a kind of development tools, then you will become the world's most sought-after talent. At the same time, due to the law of supply and demand in the job market, the annual salary of computer engineers exceeded 63,000 U.S. dollars, which makes computer science one of the highest-paid professions in 2011

Civil Engineering

Designing the exterior of a building, which is usually done by an architect, is the most important part of the design process. that is generally done by an architect. Civil engineers are only responsible for designing the structure, framing, matching beams and bars, analyzing the safety and reliability of the structure, and comparing the economics of various structures. Just like a person, the architect gives the appearance of the building and the civil engineer gives the skeleton of the building. A building is a very complex thing, there are many considerations to be made, such as harmonization with the surrounding environment, durability, and also the local climate, such as rainfall, wind speed, and temperature difference. In foreign countries, generally speaking, civil engineers specialize in designing various options for the construction of a project, through surveys, comparing costs and presenting different options to the client. After the client confirms the preferred option, the civil engineer further completes the design and produces a full set of drawings and specifications. Civil engineers are also involved in the operation and maintenance of construction facilities.

Engineering:

Most engineering graduates can find suitable jobs in the United States. Among them, biomedical engineering, telecommunication/computer engineering, industrial and manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and petroleum are among the more employable specialties. Top engineering students in the U.S. sometimes don't necessarily do engineering, but choose industrial investment, venture capital, invention investment, and the like, and will earn much more than just being an engineer, even up to $150,000 or more.

Mechanical Engineering Technology

Mechanical engineering is an important branch of engineering that deals with design, construction, and machinery. The work of mechanical engineers is becoming more varied as it covers a wider range of technologies and relies on engineers being up to date with the latest developments in computers, IT and so on. Mechanical engineers can be employed in a wide range of industry sectors such as automotive, aerospace, maritime, agriculture, chemical, civil, energy and pharmaceutical industries. Employers include local and central government, the military armed services, all manufacturing industries and research and development companies. There are also ample opportunities to work for overseas companies. Mechanical engineering is a good form of employment both in the U.S. and at home. Of course, the current financial crisis has affected the manufacturing industry to some extent, but relatively speaking, mechanical engineering graduates have not had too much trouble finding jobs.
