What does the enclosure protection class "IP30" mean?

IP30 means that it is protected against ingress of small solids, but not waterproof.

Dust protection rating (indicated by the first X)

0: no protection

1: protection against large solids

2: protection against medium-sized solids

3: protection against small solids

4: protection against solids larger than 1mm

5: protection against harmful dust buildup

6: total protection against dust buildup

7: protection against dust buildup

8: protection against dust buildup

9: protection against dust buildup

9: protection against dust buildup

10: protection against dust buildup

6: Completely protects against dust ingress

Waterproof rating (indicated by the second X)

0: No protection

1: No effect of water drops onto the housing

2: No effect of water drops onto the housing when the housing is tilted up to 15 degrees

3: No effect of water or rainwater onto the housing from the 60-degree corner

4 Liquid splashed from any direction to the shell has no harmful effect

5: Rinse with water without any harm

6: Can be used in the cabin environment

7: Can be immersed in a short period of time (1m)

8: Long-term immersion in a certain pressure

Domestic standards

QB/T 1898

--93

This standard applies to watches marked "waterproof", whether or not there is an additional overpressure mark, does not apply to diving watches. Meaning: All watches labeled as "waterproof", with or without additional overpressure marking, have waterproof performance in daily life, and also have waterproof performance when they are worn for a short period of time for swimming, and under the conditions of changing water pressure and water temperature, but they cannot be used for diving, with or without additional overpressure marking. Technical requirements and test methods are as follows:

① Air Pressure Resistance Place the watch in air pressure higher than the normal atmospheric pressure of 2×100K Pa (2Bar), and determine the air leakage rate into the case (with a special instrument for testing). Air leakage rate ≤ 50 μg / min.

② water pressure resistance immersed the watch in a container of water, within 1 minute to apply a pressure value the same as the value of the overpressure mark, if there is no overpressure mark of the watch pressurized value of 2 × 100K Pa (2Bar), and keep it for 10 minutes, and then, should be reduced to the surrounding environmental pressure within 1 minute. Do the condensation test, the inner surface of the watch glass shall not appear condensation.

3) Water Resistance to Immersion in Water to a Depth of 10cm Immerse the watch in water to a depth of 10±2cm and keep it there for 1 hour. Then do the condensation test. No condensation shall appear on the inner surface of the watch glass.

④ Mechanical pressure resistance of the operating parts Immerse the watch in water at a depth of 10±2 cm, apply a force of 5 Newtons in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the stem or push button, and hold it for 5 minutes. Then do the condensation test, and no condensation shall appear on the inner surface of the watch glass.

⑤ Resistance to changes in water temperature performance of the watch will be immersed in different temperatures of the depth of 10 centimeters of water in turn: placed in 40 ℃ water for 5 minutes; placed in 20 ℃ water for 5 minutes; placed in 40 ℃ water for 5 minutes (the watch out of the water re-immersed in another temperature of the water shall not be more than 1 minute). Then do the condensation test, the inner surface of the watch glass shall not appear condensation.

Standard Note

1, this standard is equivalent to the use of international standards ISO 2281 "watches Waterproof watches" (1990 edition).

2, the watch waterproof performance test has two programs, you can choose one to carry out. Watches can only be called waterproof watch through one of the program after all the items passed the test. The first program: ①, ③, ④, ⑤; two programs: ②, ③, ④, ⑤.

3, all kinds of waterproof watch waterproof performance is not graded. Watches in addition to the term "waterproof" mark, but also can use the pressure (in Pa) as the overpressure mark (at least 2 × 100K Pa), or the depth of the water (at least 20 meters), with the depth of the mark, should not be regarded as the depth of the dive, but it is equivalent to the depth of the corresponding pressure value.
