In addition, Novozymes selects strains with specific functions that promote the action of native bacterial populations, which can enhance the ability of natural microorganisms to respond to fluctuations in the treatment process or the ability to degrade difficult-to-treat constituents in the wastewater for better treatment results.
BI-CHEM1000 series is used for the treatment of industrial wastewater, and its main functions are:
1. Improve the stability of the treatment plant (effluent water quality) by reducing the frequency and severity of failures in the water treatment plant. Typically, this results in a reduction of organic matter in the effluent water, a significant reduction in fluctuations in effluent water quality, an increase in the persistence of nitrification, an increase in the flocculation of activated sludge, and an increase in the number and diversity of protozoa.
2. Rapid recovery from failures caused by pH deviations, water erosion and treatment interruptions.
3. Degrades a wide range of specific compounds.
4. Improvement of total BOD/COD removal, including reduction of industrial pretreatment costs.

Municipalities spend a significant portion of their budgets on system maintenance, skimming and sludge treatment, and coping with the impact of industrial wastewater entering the municipal sewer system. In addition, Novozymes Bio's bio-enhancement products provide a very effective way to cost-effectively remove grease and oils that cause drainage system failures, treat grease and oil skimmings, and improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment. The main functions of the product line are:
1. Prevents grease and oil from accumulating in collection system pump stations and artesian pipes.
2. Removes oil and grease by aerobic oxidation methods to prevent problems associated with oil and grease in scum treatments, anaerobic digesters and press operations.
3. Reducing the impact of industrial discharges by pretreatment or in-plant application methods.
4. Nitrification restoration and initiation.
