In the future construction planning, the annual handling capacity of containers can reach 2 million TEUs. As the northern wing of Shanghai International Shipping Center, Nanjing Port will seize the opportunity of Yangshan Port construction, build an international container network radiating the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, open four international liner routes directly to Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and the Middle East, and have dense internal feeder lines that seamlessly connect with Shanghai, reaching the whole world 175 countries and regions. At present, it is the densest container liner port in the Yangtze River basin, ensuring that products can be in line with the international market in a timely and efficient manner.
Due to the double constraints of the Yangtze River waterway and the clearance height of the upstream Yangtze River Bridge, Longtan Port Area has now become the gateway port for the import and export of foreign trade materials around Nanjing and the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
