Derivatives of American C- 1 19 flying car transport aircraft;
The design of C- 1 19 originated from the C-82 military transport plane successfully developed by 1944. Specifically, C- 1 19 was modified from a C-82A, but all parts were modified and two R4360 air-cooled piston engines were used instead. Compared with the C-82A, the cockpit moved to the front of the nose, which improved the visual field and solved the defect of insufficient strength of the wing and landing gear. The cabin has been widened by 0.36 meters, and the floor has been modified to carry heavy objects. In addition, the wing area was increased and the tail was modified.
C- 1 19 is unique in appearance and adopts double tail beam layout. Two engines are installed at the front end of the tail beam, and the rear end of the tail beam is connected by a flat tail and two trapezoidal vertical tails. The middle part of the central wing is a nacelle-shaped fuselage, with a five-person cockpit and a clamshell cargo door at the front and rear respectively, which is convenient for loading and unloading goods between the two stern beams. The nose can also be equipped with a radome. The first three landing gears can be stored in the rear of the mechanism and engine compartment respectively. The wing adopts the form of straight upper wing, the central wing has a large downward reflection angle, and the outer wing reflects slightly upward, showing a deformed W-shaped frontal projection. The paratroopers jumped out of the side door of the fuselage during airborne.
