Where is peek plastic used?

In the medical market, PEEK can be used in trauma, spine, joints and other fields. The most common application is as intervertebral fusion cage, anchor and so on. In recent years, it has also been used in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery.

PEEK is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer with excellent mechanical properties and chemical stability. The processing conditions of PEEK will affect the crystallinity of the product, thus affecting the mechanical properties. Young's modulus is 3.6GPa, mechanical strength reaches 90 ~ 100 MPa, glass transition temperature of PEEK is 143 degrees, and melting point reaches 343.84 degrees.

The allowable working temperature of some grades of PEEK reaches 250 degrees. The thermal conductivity increases linearly with the increase of temperature. PEEK has high thermal stability and chemical resistance, and is only corroded by halogen and strong acid at high temperature. PEEK can be dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid at room temperature.

There are various processing methods of PEEK. According to the different forms of raw materials, PEEK can be processed by injection, molding and spraying.

perform

1. heat resistance: PEEK is a high-temperature resistant thermoplastic resin with a melting point of 334℃, a long-term service temperature of 250℃ and a short-term working temperature of 300℃.

2. Flexibility: One of the best high-temperature resistant resins.

3, flame retardancy: UL94V-0 level spontaneous combustion, low smoke.

4. Drug resistance: only soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid.

5. Machinability: good fluidity, convenient for secondary processing.
