Article 16 Rehabilitation work should be based on the actual situation, combining the modern rehabilitation technology with the traditional rehabilitation technology of our country; based on the community rehabilitation, the rehabilitation institutions as the backbone, families of persons with disabilities as the basis; practical, easy to implement, and benefit from the wide range of rehabilitation as the main focus, and prioritize the development of rescue treatment and rehabilitation of children with disabilities; the development of rehabilitation requirements in line with the medical institutions, and to help patients restore their ability to care for themselves, return to their families and society. and rehabilitation; to develop science and technology that meets the requirements of rehabilitation, to encourage independent innovation, and to strengthen the research, development and application of new rehabilitation technologies, in order to provide effective rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities.
Article 19 Medical colleges and schools and other relevant institutions shall systematically offer courses in rehabilitation, set up related specialties, and train various kinds of rehabilitation professionals.
The Government and society shall take various forms of technical training for those engaged in rehabilitation; they shall popularize knowledge of rehabilitation and teach rehabilitation methods to the disabled, their relatives, and to relevant staff and voluntary workers.
Article 20 The relevant government departments shall organize and support the development, production, supply and maintenance services of rehabilitation equipment and aids for the disabled.
