Peking Union Medical College (Peking Union Medical College) is the only national key medical university directly under the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China. It implements an integrated school management system with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and is a national-level medical university in China. It is one of the first batch of pilot universities in the country for the excellent doctor education and training plan project, and one of the first batch of universities in the country to build world-class disciplines.
The school has strong and systematic scientific research capabilities and clinical medical capabilities for diagnosing and treating difficult and severe diseases. It has a wide range of disciplines, covering basic medicine, clinical medicine, preventive medicine, pharmacy, and basic disciplines such as biology, physics, and chemistry related to pharmaceutical disciplines.
The college has 18 research institutes (and 5 branches), 7 clinical hospitals (including the Tiantan Hospital jointly built with Beijing), 5 colleges, 1 graduate schools and 5 branches. It has 6 national key laboratories, 10 department open laboratories, 2 national industrial test bases, 17 national centers, 6 postdoctoral research mobile stations, and 11 World Health Organization cooperation center.
