There are 54 faculty members and 49 full-time teachers, including 3 professors/kloc-0 and 26 associate professors. International referee 1 person, 5 national referees; 6 national sports social instructors; 2 school-level backbone teachers and 2 provincial backbone teachers; 95% teachers have participated in professional training, and there are 30 teachers under the age of 45, accounting for 73% of the total number of teachers in the department.
In recent years, teachers have published more than 460 papers, including more than 0/00 core journal papers. Especially since 200 1, the research level of the institute has been greatly improved, with 6 monographs published, 6 national projects undertaken and 9 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement awards won.
At present, nearly 2000 students have graduated from the School of Physical Education of Qinghai Normal University, and more than 1000 people have obtained bachelor's degrees in education, with a bachelor's degree rate of 73.8%. Among the graduates, about 90% have become the backbone and main force of physical education in schools at all levels in Qinghai.
Since 1987, the college has established high-level sports teams (track and field, basketball) on the basis of undergraduate education. The high-level sports teams of normal university and the teams of physical education department have achieved excellent results in national competitions. Li Chunxiu, a high-level track and field athlete, represented China in the 25th Barcelona Olympic Games and won the bronze medal in the1000m competition. Represented China in the first East Asian Games and won the gold medal in the 1000-meter race. In recent years, on behalf of Qinghai Province, the track and field team participated in all kinds of national college students' competitions, winning 6 gold medals, 8 silver medals, 8 bronze medals 12, 5 fourth place and 8 fifth place, and participated in the national college students' track and field championships four times, winning 6 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 5 bronze medals, 2 fourth place and 6 fifth place, breaking the national college students' record four times. The women's basketball team won the second place in the National CUBA Basketball League twice, the third place in the National Universiade and the National CUBA Basketball League three times, the champion in the Northwest of the National CUBA Basketball League six times, the third place in the first College Women's Super League held in 2006 and the third place in the second College Women's Super League in 2007, representing the China College Women's Basketball Team in the 24th World University Games in Thailand. In May, 2008, the school women's basketball team participated in the third World University Goodwill Games held in Israel on behalf of the national university women's basketball team. After the tenacious struggle of all the players, they won the second place, winning glory for the country and being well received by the leaders of the Sports Federation of the Ministry of Education. Up to now, high-level sports teams have successively trained 24 outstanding athletes and 109 first-class athletes, sent 8 athletes to military, local and professional teams (including 4 women's basketball players to the first-class team) and sent 2 players to the national team. These achievements have won honors for Qinghai Normal University, produced a wide range of social influences, and played a due role in promoting the vigorous development of sports in Qinghai. For this reason, Qinghai Normal University was awarded the honorary titles of "advanced unit for after-school training", "advanced unit for group sports work", "advanced unit for sports reaching the standard" and "Principal's Cup for Outstanding Contribution to School Sports" by the Ministry of Education and the State Sports General Administration.
