Total Station Video Tutorial

Total station, that is, the whole station type electronic speedometer (Electronic Total Station), is a set of optical, mechanical and electrical as one of the high-tech measuring instruments, is a set of horizontal angle, vertical angle, distance (oblique distance, flat distance), height difference measurement function in one of the surveying and mapping instrument system.

Because of its one-time placement of the instrument can be completed on the station all the measurement work, so called total station. It is widely used in the field of precision engineering measurement or deformation monitoring, such as the construction of large buildings on the ground and underground tunnels. The electronic total station consists of power supply part, angle measuring system, distance measuring system, data processing part (CPU), communication interface, display, keyboard and so on.

The telescope of the total station realizes the coaxialization of the sighting axis and the transmitting and receiving axes of the ranging light wave. So that the telescope can be aimed at once to realize the determination of horizontal angle, vertical angle and oblique distance and all the basic measurement elements of the determination function. If the vertical axis of the total station is tilted during operation, it will cause the error of angular observation, and the left and right observations of the disk can not be neutralized.

The unique dual-axis (or single-axis) tilt compensation system of the total station can monitor the tilt of the longitudinal axis, and in the dial readings due to the tilt of the longitudinal axis caused by the measurement of angular error is automatically corrected (some total stations can be allowed to tilt the longitudinal axis of the maximum tilt to ± 6′).

The angular error caused by the vertical axis tilt can also be calculated by the microprocessor automatically according to the vertical axis tilt correction formula, and added to the dial readings to be corrected, so that the dial display readings for the correct value of the so-called vertical axis tilt automatic compensation.

Total station memory is the role of the real-time collection of measurement data stored, and then transmitted to other devices such as computers as needed, for further processing or utilization, total station memory memory and memory card two.
