Brief introduction of Longtan ancient town in Youyang

Longtan Ancient Town is a famous historical and cultural town in China and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Longtan ancient town is located in the southeast of Chongqing, in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain, with an area of 1.5 square kilometers. Longtan is named after two longan-shaped water caves under Fulongshan Mountain. The ancient town passes through longan and looks like a dragon nose.

Longtan town is located in the southeast of Youyang County, Chongqing, 30 kilometers away from the county seat. Because the two pools in the town are shaped like "longan", they often accumulate water into pools, hence the name "Longtan". It covers an area of 7.2 square kilometers and is home to 54,000 Tujia, Miao and Han nationalities. 13, Yongzheng in Qing dynasty, (1735) was destroyed by a fire, and then moved to Longtan River (formerly known as Sumeihe River) for reconstruction. With the convenience of Longtan River and Youshui River, it has gradually developed into an important commercial market town, which was called Longtan Cargo and Pool Front in ancient times.
