What should I do if I don’t have money to self-isolate due to COVID-19?

If you don’t have money for self-funded quarantine, you can contact your family, friends, workplace, etc. to raise money.

If you really can’t raise money, you can ask the community for help.

Generally, after showing evidence of financial difficulties, you can get subsidies from relevant departments.

People with particularly difficult financial circumstances apply for subsidies from the community, and the community helps them pay for centralized isolation.

According to the "Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases", during the isolation period, the people's government that implements isolation measures shall provide living security for the quarantined persons.

If you are unable to pay for centralized quarantine at your own expense, you can apply for home quarantine alone.

If the relevant departments do not agree to home quarantine, they can only pay the money.

Article 61 of the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases" stipulates that the state strengthens the construction of grassroots infectious disease prevention and control systems and supports the prevention and control of infectious diseases in poor areas and minority areas.

Local people's governments at all levels should ensure funding for infectious disease prevention work in urban communities and rural grassroots.

Article 62: The state provides medical assistance and reduces or exempts medical expenses to needy people suffering from specific infectious diseases.

Specific measures shall be formulated by the health administrative department of the State Council in conjunction with the financial department of the State Council and other departments.
