SASO Certification Pathway:

Pathway 1: Verification of Conformity

Exporters or suppliers apply for pre-shipment on-site verification and testing before each shipment to ascertain that the product meets the requirements. Verification and testing to determine that the product meets the necessary safety, environmental or other guidelines set forth in Saudi technical regulations.

A CoC certificate is issued upon satisfactory results. This route is recommended for infrequent exports, such as less than three exports per year.

Route 2: Registration and on-site verification before shipment

Exporters or suppliers to provide shipping samples for testing, after passing the test, the model (or series of models) of the product can obtain a certificate of registration, registration is valid for one year. In the period, the registered products in each shipment before shipment only need to carry out on-site verification, verification results can be qualified to obtain the CoC certificate. (For product labeling should also pay attention to, exported to Saudi Arabia product labeling must be directly silk-screened on the product, otherwise it will not be able to customs clearance,)

When the registered product changes, the requirements of the changed model or specifications to re-register.

The advantage of this model is that although on-site verification before each shipment is mandatory, there is no need for pre-shipment testing for each shipment.

Note: The certificate of registration for this mode can also be obtained on the basis of IECEE-CB test reports and certificates issued by the China Quality Certification Center containing the differences in the Saudi standards.

Route 3: Quality Mark Certificate (QM: Quality Mark)

This procedure basically follows the general requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 28 - typical third-party product certification system, type testing and initial factory inspection of the product applied for, and after passing the test, a QM certificate can be obtained, and the validity of the certificate is maintained through the subsequent annual supervision and inspection. Maintenance.

Under normal circumstances, products that have been awarded QM certificate do not need to be tested and on-site verification before shipment, but through the data review to ensure the consistency of the shipped product and the certified product, the data review can be qualified to obtain the CoC certificate.

This approach saves time and costs before each shipment, simplifies the repetitive application process, and ensures delivery time, so it is favored by large companies that ship more frequently or are larger in scale and focus on quality and reputation. Exporters or manufacturers of products tested fully compliant with the mandatory standards of the importing country, and after the factory quality system audit in order to obtain type approval license.
