Orthopaedic Department, under the leadership of Director Xu Rongming, a famous orthopaedic expert, professor and doctoral supervisor, actively connects with the international standards, and after years of hard work, it has developed from the Department of Orthopaedics of Traumatology to the Orthopaedics of Traumatology as the main department, and the Department of Orthopaedics of Spine Surgery, Joint Surgery, and Pediatric Orthopaedics as the main department, which is of a certain scale and with a complete range of specialties.
Trauma Orthopaedics has developed into an orthopaedic department with trauma orthopaedics as its main specialty, spine surgery, joint surgery and pediatric orthopaedics, with a certain scale and complete specialties, and established orthopaedic research institutions, and has a large number of high-quality professional and technical talents as well as advanced medical and scientific research equipments.
Orthopaedic Trauma Department, in addition to traditional internal fixation of limb fractures, has achieved good results in the treatment of severe and complex pelvic and acetabular fractures and multiple fractures, reaching the leading level in China. Adopting the most advanced minimally invasive technology to treat trauma of the limbs and other parts of the body, the department has achieved good clinical results through thousands of cases of clinical application, and has been highly valued and approved by peers and experts.
Spine surgery, on the basis of absorbing foreign advanced technology, adopts one-stage loosening and internal fixation through oropharyngeal approach for difficult-to-recover circumferential cone dislocation, utilizes cervical pedicle nail internal fixation technology, four-point fixation technology for upper cervical instability, and cervical intervertebral disc replacement technology to treat cervical vertebral disease, cervical vertebral fracture, and dislocation; adopts a variety of fixation and fusion technology to treat lumbar spine degenerative disease, and achieves a good effect; applies advanced three-dimensional orthopaedic technology to treat lumbar vertebrae and other parts of the wound. The advanced three-dimensional orthopedic technology has made breakthrough progress in the treatment of "severe idiopathic scoliosis"; various decompression and fusion internal fixation methods have been designed and implemented for the revision surgeries of occipital and cervical injuries and deformities, cervical vertebrae and thoracolumbar vertebrae diseases of high-difficulty and high-risk areas, and they are at the leading level in China.
The joint surgeons have received strict training in famous artificial joint centers at home and abroad, and have used the most advanced international arthroscopic surgical techniques for the treatment of complex knee osteoarthritis, meniscus injuries, and cruciate ligament rupture, etc., and have achieved remarkable results, and have become one of the technical centers with the largest number of arthroscopic surgeries performed in Ningbo City. Artificial joint surgical techniques (total knee, total hip, shoulder, elbow joint replacement) have been used to achieve remarkable clinical results for joint diseases such as senile osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, congenital hip dislocation, femoral head necrosis, femoral neck fracture and so on.
Pediatric Orthopaedics has formed a relatively independent diagnosis and treatment system after several years of development, and has reached the domestic advanced level for children's orthopaedic trauma, congenital deformity correction, bone tumors, infections, bone diseases, etc., such as minimally invasive treatment of supracondylar humerus fracture, elastic intramedullary nailing treatment of diaphysis fracture, surgical treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip joint and revision surgery, limb lengthening surgery, bone tumors, large allograft bone transplantation, functional reconstruction, spinal cord embolism, and other joint diseases. Functional reconstruction, spinal cord embolism and spinal cord tumor surgical treatment, have achieved excellent results. It is one of the few departments in our province that is established as an independent specialty, attracting patients from the province and even from all over the country, and has a certain popularity in Ningbo City and the province.
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery actively carries out scientific research and academic exchanges, and organizes on average 2 to 3 international academic exchanges every year, inviting famous international experts to give guidance and exchanges. Since 2003, a national spine surgery class has been held annually. 7 scientific researches have been set up in the province, city and district, one of which was awarded the second prize of scientific and technological innovation by the provincial health department, and two national patents have been obtained. There are more than 160 papers published in national magazines.
