ID Certification: The FCC reviews the samples (or photographs) and test data submitted by the applicant and authorizes an FCC ID number for the equipment if it meets the requirements of the FCC rules. Applicable to the certification of equipment including low-power transmitters such as cordless phones, remote controls for automatic doors, radio-controlled toys and security alarm systems, Part 15 of the intentional emission of radio-frequency energy devices, Part 18 of the mass consumer use of industrial, scientific research and medical equipment, automatic frequency receiver and super-regenerative receivers, television interface devices, and home computers and their peripherals. Declaration of Conformity
The party responsible for the product (manufacturer or importer) shall have the product tested at an FCC-designated qualified testing organization, make a test report, and if the product complies with FCC standards, affix the appropriate label on the product, declare in the user's manual that it complies with the provisions of the FCC standards, and retain the test report in case the FCC requests it.
Applying for an ID
Apply for an FRN first, which is used to fill out other forms. If this is the applicant's first time applying for an FCC ID, he or she will need to apply for a permanent Grantee Code, and while waiting for the FCC to approve the distribution of the Grantee Code to the applicant, the applicant should take the time to have the equipment tested.
